When taking your pet to the hospital, doctors often recommend having your pet undergo DR, CT, MRI, and ultrasound ...... However, many pet owners do not understand the role of these imaging instruments. And imaging programs are all high cost. The lack of information between pet owners and doctors can easily lead to mistrust of doctors by pet owners, exacerbating the deterioration of the doctor-patient relationship and ultimately causing disease in pets.

The following is a brief introduction to the four commonly used imaging equipment, DR, ultrasound, CT, MRI, I hope it will help the pet owners with their doubts.

Vet Imaging Machine: Principle and Role of DR Digital X-Ray

DR is usually called X-ray, and is the most frequently used imaging equipment.

The first time I saw the film, I was able to see the image of the structure on the fluorescent screen or film after penetrating the animal body. The X-ray examination can only provide two-dimensional flat images, and the imaging is easily affected by thick hair and overly thick soft tissues, so it is generally used as a preliminary examination.

X-rays have slight radiation, but according to scientific research, the amount of radiation received from one X-ray is well within the safe value. Just for insurance purposes, it is not recommended that pregnant women and parents preparing for pregnancy enter the DR room when their pets are being X-rayed to avoid harming the fetus. Those who assist in bonding are required to wear special protective clothing to protect the vital organs of the body from radiation.

For cats undergoing DR examination for the purpose of checking the number of fetuses, the amount of radiation exposure is also within the safe value.

Compared to several other imaging devices, the results of DR are relatively easy to take. Even without basic medical knowledge you can see the approximate shape of the bones from the film.

In order not to make the article too long, the principles and functions of the 3 common imaging devices, namely veterinary ultrasonography, CT, and MRI, cannot be listed here. Please click on the links below to view them.

Animal medicine is a particularly hot market in recent years. Compared with human IVDs, the threshold for product registration for animals is lower and the business model is more flexible. In terms of pet infectious disease detection technology, molecular diagnostic nucleic acid detection methods are also highly sensitive and specific. This can shorten the window period of infectious disease detection to the greatest extent.
