Why Do More People Choose Seamaty Vet Chemistry Analyzer Over IDEXX Catalyst One?

Mahasarakham University (MSU), a long-established public comprehensive university in Thailand, is the first higher education institution in Thailand to be recognized by the QS Stars System for excellence in higher education, and it is ranked among the top 20 schools in Thailand according to the Webometrics ranking of world universities.

This collision between the two brands took place at Mahasarakham University's School of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. In their research work, teachers and students need to use biochemical meters for testing to provide more accurate data for research.

Until then, they had been using IDEXX's Catalyst One biochemistry analyzer, and when Seamaty staff showed the faculty their veterinary biochemistry analyzer, the SMT120VP, in May of this year, they decided to abandon their use of IDEXX's product and start using Seamaty's biochemistry analyzer.

What are the advantages of Seamaty's 120VP that made them make this decision?

Seamaty and IDEXX Vet chemistry analyzer

Catalyst One Vs SMT-120VP

1. The SMT120VP has a lower overall cost of use

With IDEXX's catalyst one, only the analysis sample function is available on the main unit. In practice, when operations such as editing patient information, managing cases and printing test results are needed, these operations require IVSL and an outreach printer to be completed. This means that in the course of use, it increases the instrument footprint and increases the amount of budget for printers and printing paper. As time increases, the combined cost of use of the catalyst one is higher.

Seamaty's SMT120VP has a footprint the size of an adult's palm, a high-definition display, and a built-in printer. In practice, the entire testing process can be completed on a single instrument without the need for any outreach. The SMT120VP is a good solution for customers with small lab space or when they need to take it with them on trips. In addition, Seamaty, as a growing brand, does not have a brand premium, and the cost of machine purchase is relatively low for customers.

2. Catalyst One's maintenance is time-consuming

IDEXX instruments, once a year, must be upgraded. During the upgrade process, the instrument is in a non-functional state, and this upgrade operation requires the personal operation of IDEXX engineers to carry out. When the engineers were unable to upgrade the instruments in time, the teachers and students were forced to suspend their testing work, which caused them a lot of trouble.

The upgrade operation of Seamaty instrument, on the other hand, only requires WiFi connection, then the customer follows the tutorial, performs simple operations, and waits for a few minutes, and the whole upgrade process is completed.

3. The accuracy of SMT120VP test results is guaranteed

Seamaty has been investing in the POCT instrument manufacturing industry for ten years. During these ten years, more than half of the vet hospitals in China are using our products. Without investing a lot in advertising and marketing, Seamaty has relied on the positive feedback from our customers to have a good reputation in the highly competitive pet medical industry.

In addition, the MSU faculty put the same sample through two instrument tests to test the accuracy of the SMT120VP instrument, and Seamaty's instrument stood up to the test perfectly.

In every industry, if one brand occupies the vast majority of the market share, it means that the development of that industry is stagnant. Only constant competition and the development of more products can better maintain the industry's vitality. Although IDEXX is the leader in the veterinary medical industry, Seamaty will always be ready to face the challenges ahead in a market that is always changing.

After adding approximately 100 ul of sample from the spiked well, place the test disc into the instrument's telescoping bin. The telescoping bin transports the test disc to the working position. The biochemistry instrument lifting device (top bar) then clamps the test disc in place. At the same time it pushes the integrated dilution cup in the test dish upwards and tears a small opening for the liquid to spill out (topping off the water cup).
